2nd Kenya Diaspora International Conference and Investment Forum
he Organizing Committee is pleased to announce the 2nd Kenya Diaspora International Conference and Investment Forum entitled “Building a Knowledge-Based Economy in Kenya: The Role of the Kenyan Diaspora” to be held in Atlanta, Georgia beginning on Aug 20, 2009 through Aug. 22, 2009. The conference is a follow-up to the successful 1st Kenya Diaspora International Conference and Investment Forum entitled “The Role of the Kenyan Diaspora in Kenya’s Development” which was held in March 2007 at Kennesaw State University.
The purpose of this Conference is to provide a forum for multiple stakeholders to engage the Kenya Diaspora and potential foreign investors on effective initiatives to build productive partnerships in support of Kenya and her development agenda. The theme of this year’s conference is – Building a Knowledge-Based Economy in Kenya: the role of the Kenyan Diaspora. The theme is both relevant and timely as Kenya rolls out the nationwide fiber optic infrastructure and positions itself as a viable destination for technology-driven services.
The Conference will include a Business-to-Business (“B2B”) summit, an Information Communication Technology (“ICT”) mini-conference, and an Investment Forum. Running parallel to the Conference component will be an Expo and possibly a Career Fair.
