Israeli Delegation on Eight Day Official Tour of Five African Countries
A statement issued and signed by Mr William Anani-Abotsi, Assistant Director of Information and Public Affairs Bureau at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration on behalf of the Minister said, Mr. Liberman, who is also the Deputy Prime Minister of the state of Israel, would be accompanied by a delegation of businessmen.
The businessmen several business sectors including water and Agro-technology, energy and infrastructure, medical equipment, telecommunications, information technology and security.
“The business delegation is constituted under the auspices of the Israel export and International Cooperation Institute. Other members of the delegation are expected to engage their Ghanaian counterparts in discussions on Monday, aimed at exploring new business opportunities for a sustained economic cooperation between Ghana and Israel” It said.
The tour which includes Israeli defense officials was kicked off on Wednesday and took them through Ethiopia, Kenya and Uganda. The tour is largely seen as a an opportunity to increase its influence in Africa and counter Iran’s rising influence. The next and final stop will be in Abuja, Nigeria.
