The company reportedly plans to increase annual production at its Rosslyn plant by 45% from 60,000 units to 87,000 units. The Rosslyn plant currently produces the BMW 3 series models.
The finalization of the investment follows the signing of a letter of commitment with the South African Department of Trade and Industry.
The carmaker intends to spend two-thirds of the investment towards introducing a new vehicle model and production technology, with the remaining investment going towards the company’s group’s local supplier network.
