Egyptian Satellite Co. (Nilesat) is an Egypt-based company, whose activities include the operation of broadcasting satellites, their associated ground control station and up-linking facilities. The Company’s services include broadcasting services, such as digital television (TV) and audio programs direct to home (DTH); data transmission services, such as turbo Internet, business and stock exchange services and distance education; multimedia services, and data broadcasting services. Nilesat launched two space satellites, Nilesat 101 and Nilesat 102, and is in the process of launching Nilesat 201. It broadcasts 440 digital TV channels and 104 digital radio channels. Nilesat has a support training center specialized in satellites and space communication technology. The main shareholder of the Company is Egyptian Radio & Television Union (ERTU).
