Highveld Steel and Vanadium Corporation Limited (Highveld) is a South African vanadium producer with integrated mining, steel and vanadium production resources and facilities. The Company operates in three segments: steel, which produces vanadium slag, billets, slabs, hot-rolled profiles and flat products; vanadium, which produces vanadium pentoxide, ferrovanadium and vanadium chemicals, and ferro-alloys, which produces manganese alloys, ferrosilicon, electrode paste and char. In its integrated Steelworks and various divisions, Highveld produces steel and vanadium products. Ore for the Vanchem division and the Steelworks is obtained from the Company’s own mine. The works are situated in the eMalahleni, Mpumalanga and the mine is situated in the Roossenekal area, Limpopo, both Republic of South Africa. Highveld’s wholly owned subsidiary, Hochvanadium Holding AG, is engaged in the processing and sale of vanadium products. The Company’s ultimate holding company is Anglo American plc.
