Netcare Limited (Netcare), formerly Network Healthcare Holdings Limited is a South Africa-based investment holding company. The Company, through its subsidiaries operates the private health care network in the South Africa and the United Kingdom. Netcare is also the private trainer of emergency personnel and health care workers in South Africa. In the United Kingdom, the Company is also a private acute care hospital provider. Netcare is also an independent service provider to the National Health Service (NHS). During the fiscal year ended September 30, 2008 (fiscal 2008), Netcare’s Hospital division owned and managed 52 private hospitals, with 8 678 registered beds and 318 theatres across South Africa. The aeromedical division manages the evacuations of the insured clients based in South Africa and internationally. In October 2007, the Company acquired the remaining 56.3% in Community Hospital Group. In November 2008, the Company also completed the acquisition of Linkwood Clinic.
